Rhodesian Ridgebacks,
lovingly nurtured in Kent

Our story

Rhodesian Ridgebacks make the most fantastic family pets and we can offer support throughout their entire lives

Love at first sight

My love for Rhodesian Ridgebacks began years ago when I was a teenager and I met two Rhodesian Ridgebacks belonging to my sister’s friend.

From that day I knew they were the breed for me when the time was right.

Our first experience

20 years ago my husband Marcus and I bought our first male Rhodesian Ridgeback, Flintoff, after we’d moved to a small holding in rural Kent to raise our 2 little girls.

Over the next few years we added two additional Rhodesian Ridgebacks to our family: Kora and LouLie.

As my husband’s business took him away several nights a week, I decided that as we live fairly rurally I wanted another Ridgeback, and not another baby!

The old fashioned way

It was then after searching and not really liking what I saw, that I decided to breed our first litter myself and do it my way – a way that may be seen as ‘the old fashioned way’ but I knew that I didn’t want a dog from a kennel environment.

Flintoff used to bark at the hoover from the day we brought him home until the day he took his last breath.

I knew that I wanted my litter and our fourth Ridgeback to be exposed to all the sounds and chaos that Flintoff clearly had not experienced as a puppy.

That is how our journey into breeding Ridgebacks began

Update January 2026

I feel a website update is long overdue it was set up 3 1/2 years ago but little did I know that 6 months later I would loose my heart, once in a lifetime boy Buckley.

We have also lost our Siamese cat, Buckley’s longtime girlfriend Kora & her daughter Zsa Zsa.

It’s taken until now (January 2026) to finally update the website, not that I was incapable but because I simply couldn’t bring myself to finally put into words that my boy, where it all began just isn’t here anymore.

He is irreplaceable & I am still heartbroken.

The world doesn’t stop, day becomes night & here we are 3 years later.

His legacy does live on though & over the past 3 years we have added to our pack & have 3 of his grandchildren, found 3 feral kittens & their mum who are now our family too & a rescued very vocal Bengal cat.

Brutus our young male ridgeback had big boots to fill but has over the years since his Great Grandpa left us proved to be as amazing as Buck. His puppies are beautiful, calm & have truly wonderful temperaments something we hear time and time again.

We have 5 generations now.

Genetic testing

We are fortunate to have a strong link with GenoCan, a laboratory dealing with genetic testing of dogs with a focus on Rhodesian ridgebacks.
