ANNOUNCEMENT: Litter planned for Summer 2025

Rhodesian Ridgebacks,
lovingly nurtured in Kent

Our story

Rhodesian Ridgebacks make the most fantastic family pets and we can offer support throughout their entire lives

Love at first sight

My love for Rhodesian Ridgebacks began years ago when I was a teenager and I met two Rhodesian Ridgebacks belonging to my sister’s friend.

From that day I knew they were the breed for me when the time was right.

Our first experience

20 years ago my husband Marcus and I bought our first male Rhodesian Ridgeback, Flintoff, after we’d moved to a small holding in rural Kent to raise our 2 little girls.

Over the next few years we added two additional Rhodesian Ridgebacks to our family: Kora and LouLie.

As my husband’s business took him away several nights a week, I decided that as we live fairly rurally I wanted another Ridgeback, and not another baby!

The old fashioned way

It was then after searching and not really liking what I saw, that I decided to breed our first litter myself and do it my way – a way that may be seen as ‘the old fashioned way’ but I knew that I didn’t want a dog from a kennel environment.

Flintoff used to bark at the hoover from the day we brought him home until the day he took his last breath.

I knew that I wanted my litter and our fourth Ridgeback to be exposed to all the sounds and chaos that Flintoff clearly had not experienced as a puppy.

That is how our journey into breeding Ridgebacks began

We have since lost Flintoff and LouLie but still have Kora who was 13 in early 2022. We also have five other girls, plus our two boys, Buckley and Brutus.

Brutus, our youngest male, was bred by us but outcrossed to a beautiful deep red male from a long established breeder in Surrey. We couldn’t be happier with him and he has taken over from Buckley now that we’ve retired him.

Brutus has now proved himself and his pups are simply phenomenal in nature and looks.

We are not a kennel and all our crew of 8 Ridgebacks live harmoniously together in our house.

Genetic testing

We are fortunate to have a strong link with GenoCan, a laboratory dealing with genetic testing of dogs with a focus on Rhodesian ridgebacks.
